A neat story

Hello,

I think you'll all like this story...

This past Friday, I went with a friend to the market in Antigua so she could buy some items that another missionary in another country had requested.  Normally the drive to Antigua would take about 35 minutes, however traffic was heavily congested because of demonstrations and protests in different parts of the city.  At one point my friend said maybe we should go another day?  I said no let's go today.

We arrived at the market after a little extra time in transit.  While there we saw a volunteer team who were here working with another Baptist missionary who I know.  While I was talking to this group an older man from Illinois came up and started talking to me.  He thought I was part of the group and I explained that I live here.  (In the market where we were, it is very common to see groups of Americans either ones who are here on volunteer teams or here studying Spanish) He asked me about my work and other things.  Then his wife came up and I was talking to her.  The wife grew up going up to a Baptist church, now they attend Assemblies of God Church. She looked at her husband and said let's bless her with a gift.  He said okay.  She took her checkbook out and wrote a check to me for a gift.  It was such an unexpected blessing!

Then we went our separate ways in the market.  A few minutes later the husband came up to me and asked if I knew anyone who has an orphanage here in Guatemala who could use some help.  By the way, the Illinois couple were here on a mission trip, their 24th trip to Guate on medical missions.  I said yes I know a lady who has an orphanage for children with special needs.  I said she has been sick the past few months and two of the children have also died recently.  While we were talking the wife came up and heard the conversation.  I told her the name of the lady who runs the orphanage.  She said I know her personally, she said I haven't had an email from her recently. I said well that's why you haven't had one, she has been sick and has had alot going on. I said I know she could use encouragement and support.  I said I think that is the orphanage you are to help because it is the name God immediately brought to mind and you know her as well.

The next day I told a friend of mine this story.  She said Carol that can only be God who did that. I said exactly.

Love, Carol
