Parting of the traffic

Traffic in Guatemala City can be frustrating however in the midst of all of it, it is so neat to see cars move out of the way when an ambulance comes with the sirens on.  Just when you think there isn't anywhere for cars to get out of the way, everyone moves to the side a little and the ambulance is able to pass.  This morning I watched it all happen. I was going to an appointment and I was in slow moving heavy traffic.  Then I heard the sound of the ambulance sirens.  Immediately almost 100% of the drivers moved to one side of the road whether they could move five inches or five feet over.  They made a path for the ambulance.  It was so neat and interesting to watch, we were in a place where it didn't look like anymore cars could fit however there was room.  I imagine it was kind of like the parting of the Red Sea...

Pastor Manuel and family

Please pray for Pastor Manuel, Siomara and their son Samuel.  He is pastor of a local Baptist Church and they are all greatly involved in the church.  Samuel was so cute on this day.  He had a play/toy cellphone which someone had given him.  So as we prayerwalked in a local neighborhood, he would stop at different places, hold up his cellphone and take a photo!  He was imitating what he has seen so many people do, taking photos with their cellphones.

A few animals of Guatemala

Recently a local magazine had a photo contest called "Animals of Guatemala".  Unfortunately I didn't get my entries in time for the contest.  So, I thought I would just put a few of the animal photos which I have taken on my blogspot.

The lady

Something about this lady grabbed my attention.  I was with a friend of mine and when I saw this lady I knew I had to take a picture.  She was walking down the road looking for any trash which people had thrown out.

Eggs anyone?

Are you ready for some scrambled eggs??  I don't know if I would want to be the driver of this truck!
